Margaret Thatcher Won't Meet "Nuts" Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin has long-admired former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Well, the feeling is apparently not mutual. Thatcher is refusing to meet with the former half-term Alaska governor.

According to the New York Daily News, Palin will make a stop in London on her way to the Sudan this summer.

"I am just hoping Mrs. Thatcher is well enough to see me as I so admire her," she told Britain's Sunday Times.

Yeah, that won't be happening.

"Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts," a source told the Guardian.

Another aide was more diplomatic, saying the 86-year-old Thatcher is in declining health and doesn't make many public appearances. For example, she skipped her own 85th birthday party last year, and couldn't make Williams and Kate's royal wedding.

"Nowadays, the Lady rarely meets people at all," the aide told the Independent. "If a meeting went ahead, it would be very much low-key, and would very much depend on how things were on the day. We don't make firm appointments for this sort of meeting."

Thatcher's next scheduled public appearance is for July 4 for the unveiling of a statue of her friend and ally President Ronald Reagan at the U.S. embassy in London.

"Margaret is focusing on Ronald Reagan and will attend the unveiling of the statue. That is her level," a source told the Guardian.
