Man Sues Dating Site Match.Com for Emotional Harm

A New York man is suing match.com after failing to find love on the popular online dating site. Sean McGinn of Brooklyn is accusing the site of promoting bogus and inactive profiles in order to give the illusion that there are more eligible young women available than is actually true.
Among other things, the lawsuit charges that "Match misleads paying subscribers by charging them for the ability to write e-mails to members who can't reply to their e-mails or even read them." Fox News reports:

I'm a decent looking, mid-50's guy in L.A. with a really good income as a financial consultant, an author/publisher and composer/musician. Single, divorce (from a 17 year marriage - so I can do long-term!) one adult child. You'd think I'd get more than a few nibbles?
Yes, I did meet a few 'real' people, but also I stronly suspected Match.Com of having shill and expired accounts which their staff probably ping from time to time to show them as recently "active".
I let my membership expire. Hmmmm, I wonder if my profile is still active. ??
