A German man will go on trial next year for allegedly castrating a 57-year-old man who was dating his teenage daughter.

According to a report in the London Telegraph, Helmut Seifert was enraged when he learned that his 17-year-old daughter was having a relationship with an older man named Phillip Genscher.

Seifert went to his local police, but they said they had no power to intervene. So he took matters into his own hands, literally.

According to police, "The man then recruited two work colleagues at his factory and then went to the house of the victim. The man was forced to remove his trousers and, fully conscious, he was castrated. The severed testicles were taken away by the perpetrator."

Genscher was close to bleeding to death, but he managed to call police and was rushed to a hospital.

Seifert reportedly confessed, but would not say who his accomplices were.

He told police, "I received a phone call anonymously that my daughter was involved with a guy 40 years older than her. You said you couldn't stop him – so I did.

"I saw it as my duty as a father."
