The Cavs are still out there on the hardwood setting records. Last night, they set a big one.
Following a 111-105 defeat at the hands of the Portland Trailblazers, the Cavaliers owned the record for most consecutive losses in a season in NBA history with 24.
From Monday to Friday of this week, the Cavs visit Dallas, host the Pistons and then host Blake Griffin and the Clippers. The good news is that there is no guaranteed win in that triptet (just made that word up) of games, and the Cavs could extend their streak to make it one of the more unreachable in all of sports.
The previous record was held by the 1995-96 Vancouver Grizzlies and 1997-98 Denver Nuggets. Somewhere, Bryant “Big Country” Reeves is popping the cap on a bottle of Old English.
