Former South Carolina commit Brandon Golson is headed to Louisville. The 6-2, 210-lbs linebacker committed to the Ole Ball Coach in 2009, but had to enroll in prep school after failing to qualify.
He spent this year at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia and by all accounts, was still heading to South Carolina. However, Charlie Strong got him to visit Louisville this past week and that was all he needed.
According to reports, Golson is in Louisville right now, set to enroll in classes this week, which is the beginning of the Spring semester. Golson would be eligible to begin working out with the team and obviously, participate in Spring practice.
Popular VideoThis young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.
This is a significant pick-up. Golson has spent a year at prep school, so he’s had a year to physically mature a bit. Now, he’ll get a full Spring and Summer under strength and conditioning coach Pat Moorer before Fall practice.
I fully expect to see him push for playing time come Fall. The linebacker position has several spots up for grabs and with Golson getting here for Spring ball, he will have a shot at landing one of those.
