Utah's Kyle Korver Sets New NBA Three-Point Record

| by Off The Record

Utah Jazz G/F Kyle Korver has broken the single-season record for three-point percentage. By going 59-of-110 from beyond the arc this season (53.6 %), he broke the previous record set by the Chicago Bulls’ Steve Kerr (52.4%) back in 1994-1995.

“It feels like a weight’s gone off my shoulders a little bit,” Korver said. “I’m just going to go out there and play my normal game, though. The record, I took good shots, I took the open ones all year.

“I feel like I didn’t take any ones that were contested or ones that coach [Jerry] Sloan hasn’t liked in the past. That’s what I’m going to do now. Hopefully, I’ll get some shots.”

Some would argue that Korver had an advantage with the short three-point line in Utah. When the new arena was constructed, the arc was accidentally painted at the same distance as that of a high school girl’s gymnasium. The NBA has not yet approached the Jazz about fixing the issue.
