Atheist, Scholar Ken Pulliam Dead

| by Luke Muehlhauser

Very sad news. Ken Pulliam has died of a heart attack. His Facebook memorial page is here.

His blog, Former Fundy, is a treasure trove of scholarly work examining Christian attempts to explain and justify the penal substitution theory of the atonement, and he was writing a book on the subject.

I interviewed Ken here. I catalogued some of the best posts on his blog here. He was also a guest writer for Common Sense Atheism. His posts here are:

I miss him already, though surely not as much as his wife Cheryl does.

A few days before he died, he submitted his chapter on atonement theory for the Loftus-edited The End of Christianity, the sequel to the excellent The Christian Delusion.
