Katie Couric is reportedly set to leave her position on the CBS Evening News desk to launch her own syndicated talk show.
Katie Couric, who five years ago made history as the first woman to anchor the CBS evening news broadcast, is leaving CBS news to launch her own talk show.
Couric’s contract with the network ends on June 4 and on her recent appearance on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’, she hinted at a possible change in jobs.

David Letterman said, “Once you take that anchor chair, that’s what you do”, to which Couric replied, “Really?”
Sonya McNair, a CBS representative, talked about the rumors of a new talk show, stating, “We’re having on-going discussions with Katie Couric. We have no announcements to make at this time. Until we do, we will continue to decline comment on rumor or speculation”.
Sources report Katie Couric will launch her own syndicated talk show next year.
