Is Jennifer Aniston's Film Career Over?

| by Oh The Scandal
Jennifer Aniston might want to think again about snubbing that Friends movie. Her latest sperm donor comedy has flopped at the US box office.

Aniston’s widely promoted turkey-baster flick The Switch – about a woman who gets pregnant via artificial incemination – is a bona fide turkey. Oh, the irony.

The movie, which co-stars Jason Bateman, opened with a disappointing $8.1 million over the weekend, falling into eighth place behind the debuts of Twilight spoof Vampires Suck, Lottery Ticket and Piranha 3D.

Aniston’s last romcom Bounty Hunter with Gerard Butler earned $20 million in its opening weekend.

The Switch was widely panned by critics, with Us Weekly’s Thelma Adams saying that Aniston “treads on all-too-familiar ground; there isn’t an exasperated hair flip we haven’t already seen 100 times.”

Sylvester Stallone’s comeback flick The Expendables held on to the number one spot for a second week, while Vampires Suck came in second and Julia RobertsEat Pray Love slipped a spot to three.

I love the New York Post’s bitchy take on Aniston’s floppy film run. The website speculates that the actress chooses her roles according to the mood she’s in.

“In her newest movie, The Switch, Aniston plays a character that has no husband or boyfriend, which is decidedly inconvenient considering her time to have a child is running out.

“It’s funny, cause that’s the exact same situation the real Aniston wakes up to each and every morning (minus the stupendous dimmers that Brad Pitt personally installed in the house they lived in together, and the weighted knowledge that he now has six children that she did not give him).”
