Phil Jackson has finally decided to put a ring on it.
In a predictably excited tweet, Jeanie Buss, the daughter of Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss, announced to the world on Thursday that she and Jackson have gotten engaged.
The pair has been dating for nearly 15 years and live together near the Lakers practice facility.
Jeanie was a huge advocate for Jackson returning to Los Angeles this year after Mike Brown's firing; unfortunately, the team decided to go with Mike D'Antoni instead. Unfortunately is the operative word there.

Shortly after her tweet, in a quick interview with Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, Jeanie said that no wedding date had been set.
"I'm beyond happy," Buss told ESPNLosAngeles.com. "I really didn't want it to be news, but I knew people who followed me on Twitter cared about it and I've been wearing the ring since Christmas, so I figured I should let people know."

Jackson is 67 years old and Jeanie is 51.
Here’s to hoping that David Stern doesn’t veto Phil’s proposal.
