Welcome to our “Jam of the Week” – a place to discover new music that you can incorporate into your practice, or just rock out with anytime of the day…
Producer/ multi-instrumentalist Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton and Italian arranger/ film scorer Daniele Luppi have collaborated to bring us the brilliant ROME, an album inspired by the beautiful film scores that accompanied the Spaghetti-Westerns of Ennio Morrocconi. Jack White and Norah Jones take on a few tracks, including our featured jam, “Two Against One.”
This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.
An otherwise difficult concept, Burton and Luppi managed to pull this one off flawlessly. They are able to capture the essence of these films, but rather than creating background music, they have created a brilliant masterpiece that can stand on its own. Jack White’s mysterious vocals and powerful acoustics make “Two Against One” stand out, but in its entirety, ROME is one of the more incredible projects I’ve heard in a while. You can preview and purchase the album here… Enjoy!
