Is AZ Building a Bridge to Nowhere?

The new AZ law that allows for citizens to be randomly stopped if they perhaps look like 'illegals' is a gross miscarriage of justice. In order to aviod profiling, police officers will have to stop people of every race and nationality. This is not only a waste of time but will also defeat the actual purpose of the law. Since the new law makes it mandatory to perform the stops, or else the police may be reported by citizens, it seems to me as if a circus has just begun in AZ?

People that are here illegally and are of the criminal element, the real intented targets, aren't going to be the one cooperating with the police in the first place, so the unfortunate ones who may be in the process of becoming legal, the law abiding ones, are the people most apt to be impacted by this new wave of silliness.

I think this makes an already difficult job, of the police officer, more difficult, as it puts them in a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. It creates a chasm between officers and the communities that they serve and it turns individual citizens into vigilantes.
