Rock out at the Iowa City Yoga Festival
Iowa City is usually not the first place that comes to mind when New Yorkers are planning a vacation getaway. However, yoga practitioners should reconsider.
Registration has opened for the second annual Iowa City Yoga Festival (ICYF), being held October 7 thru October 9. Founder James Miller described the festival as “a low-cost event offering yoga students the unique opportunity to rock out while simultaneously enjoying amazing workshops and intensives with well known yoga teachers.”
“Rocking out” is exactly what was done at last year’s festival, and one could say that it has become part of the festival’s mission to ensure that the lively atmosphere continues. Comedians, DJ’s and various well-known teachers showcasing their unique yogic abilities provide the opportunity to balance quiet time to self-reflect with the fun and excitement that comes from connecting with a community of like-minded people.
