Internet Addiction Hits Russian Teens

There is much talk about Internet addiction in the United States, but now it appears other countries are affected by it as well.

A report from the Indo Asian News Service said psychologists in Russia believe Internet addiction is starting to hit teenagers in their country.

Recent surveys find that between 5% and 14% of Russians show symptoms of internet addiction.

It is so bad, psychologists say the obsession with the Internet could be on the same level as drug and alcohol addiction.

The Moscow News reports that officials fear "the country is in danger of being overwhelmed by internet addiction."

Here in the U.S., an estimated 5%-to-10% of Internet users are addicted.
