Hugh Jackman Turns Down Oscar-Hosting Gig

| by Oh The Scandal

Hugh Jackman has reportedly turned down an offer to host the 2011 Oscars.

According to website Deadline.com, Oscarcast executive producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer approached the X-Men star with an offer to host the 83rd Academy Awards.

Jackson, who also reportedly opted out of hosting the awards ceremony last year – because he didn’t want to take the reins two years in a row – says he’ll be too busy filming X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2.

Deadline reports that Wolverine 2 will be filmed in late February, which clashes with the February 27, 2011 broadcast of the Oscars.

Steve Martin took on the hosting duties last year, with a little help from Alec Baldwin.

So who will host next year?

Movieline.com has some suggestions:

Neil Patrick Harris
Steve Martin
Ricky Gervais
Tina Fey
Joan Rivers
