The remains of a woman who had been missing for more than three years were discovered by a California man while he was hiking near Los Angeles.
Megan Dipiazza vanished on Nov. 11, 2012, leaving behind a "goodbye letter" for her family at her apartment. Dipiazza's family has been looking for her ever since.
On Jan. 17 a man who was hiking in the Angeles National Forest found Dipiazza's car and ID.
The hiker also discovered bones in the area, reports Daily Mail.

The unnamed man found both the car and ID approximately 500 feet down a ravine, according to the Los Angeles Times.
He called the authorities, who postponed the investigation until daybreak on Jan. 18.
An examination of the car produced a photo of Dipiazza's family and credit cards in her name.
Dipiazza was in the process of separating from her husband of 10 years when she went missing in 2012, leaving the house after the two had a quarrel while deliberating the future of their marriage.

“We didn’t come to an agreement. She took off and was a little upset. That’s the last I saw of her,” her husband Sal told CBS Los Angeles at the time.
At the time, Dipiazza was 33 years old and had two young children.
She left behind her wallet and purse and there was no credit activity on her cards after dhe disappeared.
Her remains will undergo DNA testing to confirm the identity.
