Heat’s Haslem Vindicated: Marijuana Charges Dropped

The Heat is off Haslem.

Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem had all charges related to a prior marijuana arrest dropped because of a lack of evidence, says the South Florida Sun-Sentinel

The 30-year-old Heat player was arrested on August 15 after being pulled over by police for driving 78 mph in a 60 mph zone. When police searched his automobile, they found a container of marijuana. Despite Haslem’s passenger, Antwan Fleming, taking responsibility for the narcotic, Haslem was also brought in on drug charges.

But like the Cleveland Cavaliers circa July 2010, it all fell apart.

Haslem’s attorney, Eric Schwartzreich, was told all charges against his client would be dropped on Thursday afternoon.

In a statement released through the Heat, Haslem stated: "I am really looking forward to getting back to basketball and focusing on the upcoming season."
