An Arkansas waitress was recently fired from her job because she called the police after seeing a mother consume multiple alcoholic beverages while breastfeeding her baby.
Waitress Jackie Conners (pictured, right) was working at a Gusano’s Pizzeria when she saw 28-year-old Tasha Adams (pictured, left) order “drink after drink” while breastfeeding her 7-month-old daughter at the same time.
According to the Daily Mail, Conners deemed the mother’s actions “unacceptable” and decided to take matters into her own hands.
“Me, being a mom, and just seeing something like that and seeing a baby that can't speak for itself, having a parent do something like that is just unacceptable,” Conners told ArkansasMatters.

So she decided to call the police.
Police arrived at the scene and arrested Adams, reports the Daily Mail. She was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and is scheduled to appear in court in January.
A few days later, Conners was fired from the pizzeria.
A manager at the restaurant told ArkansasMatters that Conners’ termination had nothing to do with the breastfeeding incident, but he reportedly declined to elaborate.

Adams, a mother of three, claims that the entire situation was blown out of proportion.
“I hate that, because people don’t know the truth,” she said. “I am really a normal person.”
Pregnant mothers are warned that consuming even moderate levels of alcohol can cause birth defects in their unborn child, notes the Daily Mail. Regardless, Adams claims she cares about her family more than anything else.
“No one is seeing my side,” Adams said. “I just want everyone to know I am not a horrible person. I have a family to take care of, and that’s all I care about.”
