Limbaugh: Liberal Policies Turn Women into 'Nothing But Abortion Machines'

| by

Talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh, who once called a birth-control advocate a “slut” who demands that “taxpayers pay her to have sex,” and who earlier this month said that low-income women with children under five should have their federal food benefits cut off to “use them as an object lesson,” yesterday accused the Democratic party of turning women into “abortion machines.”

Yes, this is the man who once said that feminism shrinks men’s penises.

Limbaugh has long been an advocate for the age-old conservative argument that helping people actually hurts them. On his Wednesday program he embarked on a typical rant in response to caller’s idea about how to dispel the notion that Republicans are waging a “war on women.”

“When they say that we’re against women, we put out that they’re against women,” the caller, a woman, suggested.

Limbaugh agreed and then delivered a dissertation detailing ways that in his view, liberal policies damage women and other groups.

“Look at what they’re doing," Limbaugh implored. “They’re destroying the black family, they’re destroying the minority family — look at what they’re doing to women with their policies. They’re demeaning them, they’re turning them into nothing but abortion machines.”

Limbaugh never explained how Democratic or liberal programs turn women into “abortion machines” or even what an “abortion machine” is.

Limbaugh has previously said that if abortion must remain legal, the law should require them to be carried out with a gun. He also labeled pro-choice groups “death squads,” a term used to describe usually secret government agents who carry out assassinations and political murders, such as the secret police who terrorized Central America on behalf of right-wing regimes there in the 1970s and 1980s.
