Forbes Blogger Tells Fox: ‘Obamacare Is A War On Bros’ Because Women Should Be Paying More (Video)

Forbers blogger and former Mitt Romney health care advisor Avik Roy appeared on Fox News Tuesday claiming that women should be paying more for insurance so “Obamacare is a war on bros.”

Roy, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, told “Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy that “the key thing to understand is Obamacare is a war on bros.”

He claimed he determined that in several states’ the average premium could increase over 130 percent under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. He said these states are the ones that had “lightly regulated” insurance markets, typically outside of the northeast.

“The average increase in any state in 41 percent,” said Doocy.

“And that’s an average,” he explained. “So, the key thing to understand is Obamacare is a war on bros. It’s young men in particular, who are going to pay a lot more. Young people are going to pay more, men are going to pay more relative to women, and healthy people are going to pay more relative to sick people.”

Before different insurance rates between the sexes was made illegal by Obamacare, insurance companies would charge women up to ten times more than men, according to the Washington Post.
