Specialists from the Centers for Disease Control were dispatched to John F. Kennedy International Airport on Tuesday after a 2-year-old girl experiencing vomiting and diarrhea arrived on a plane from Abu Dhabi.

Officials examined the toddler and found “no known infectious disease risk,” according to a CDC spokeswoman.

Passengers on the flight were allowed to disembark.

The child was taken to Jamaica Hospital for observation.

The United Nations is holding a two-day special meeting beginning Wednesday on the West Africa Ebola outbreak. Officials are debating whether they should declare the outbreak a public health emergency.

The death toll is now 887 people, according to the World Health Organization. No deaths have been reported outside of Africa. Nearly all cases have stemmed from Liberia, Sierra Leone or Guinea.
