An unidentified source recently told TMZ, "His kidneys are shot," and added that Odom will likely undergo brain tests to see if he experienced any lasting damage from the strokes.

An unidentified source told USA TODAY that a kidney transplant for Odom may be a “viable possibility at some stage.”

Odom's family told ETOnline.com in a statement on Oct. 20:

As Lamar begins a new chapter in his road to recovery, PLEASE continue to uplift him and the family in prayer. He continues to make miraculous progress, taking a few steps in Los Angeles. We couldn't be more overjoyed!

We realize Lamar's continued improvement will not be easy, however his unrelenting strength and faith in GOD will pull him through.

In addition to God, Odom will have be drug-free in order to get a kidney transplant, which would mean he would likely have to take anti-rejection medication for the rest of his life.
