Stranger Pays for Family's Meal Because of Special Needs Child (Video)
Jason and Ashley England were recently eating at a restaurant with their family, which includes a special needs child, when a stranger paid their bill.
The random act of kindness happened at the Stag & Doe restaurant in China Grove, N.C. on Friday night (video below).
The kind mystery man paid for their meal and wrote a note: "God only gives special children to special people."
The bill was not small, but included Jason, Ashley, son Logan, special needs son Riley, the boys' grandmother and great-grandmother.
Riley, 8, has had three major brain surgeries for a severe form of epilepsy and is unable to speak, so he often gets frustrated and can lose control.
"The past few weeks have been very hard and trying for us, especially with public outings. Riley was getting loud and hitting the table and I know it was aggravating to some people," Ashley told WBTV.
However, the opposite happened when a waitress, Tonya Griffin, approached their table and said, "I'll try to do this without crying, but another customer has paid for your bill tonight and wanted me to give you this note."
Ashley added, "To have someone do that small act towards us shows that some people absolutely understand what we are going through and how hard it is to face the public sometimes."
"That made me cry, blessed me more than they know. I felt like out of all the rude negative comments that we are faced with, this outweighs them. The people who care!"
Ashley wants to track down the mystery man and thank him personally.
