Husband Drives Pregnant Wife to Hospital as She Goes Into Labor (Video)
Kristin Dickerson, who works as a childbirth educator, went into labor during a frantic car ride to a Houston, Tx., hospital on June 28.
Her husband Troy wore a GoPro camera strapped to his head as he drove 95 m.p.h. on a highway with his pregnant wife groaning in the passenger seat.
In the video (below), Kristin yells, "I can't make it! I can't make it!" and tells her husband to pull over, but Troy keeps speeding.
Once they get to the hospital, Kristin is already giving birth when she gets out of their car.
A valet attendant and security guard seemed stunned as they watch Kristin standing outside her car in the hospital driveway, giving birth.
Troy and the valet attendant tell Kristin to sit in a wheelchair, but she refuses as baby Truett is coming out.
"I said, 'On the next contraction, push.' And on the next contraction, she pushed and he came flying out," Troy told Click2Houston.com.
Fortunately, Troy caught his newborn son.
"I tell my students, 'This will never happen to you, I promise!' But I do teach them about emergency birth so they'll be prepared for it, to take some of the fear out of it," added Kristin.
Eventually, doctors and nurses came to Kristin's aid after she gave birth.
"I'm thrilled to have the footage," Kristin told ABC News (video below). "I'm more hesitant to send it to people, because it's such an intimate moment for us, but as a birth educator, it's really cool to let people see that our bodies know what to do."
This is the couple's third child.
