50-year-old Hoang Tran suffered a heart attack while fighting with his teen daughter and was put on life support.

Three days later, he died, and his 17-year-old daughter is booked on suspicion of manslaughter, police said.

San Jose Police Sgt. Jason Dwyer said the girl, who was not identified because of her age, had a verbal fight with her father on April 6 at their home in the neighborhood of Berryessa Creek.

Dwyer said the altercation "escalated into a physical fight during which the suspect pushed the victim to the ground.”

Tran was unresponsive while police arrived. He was taken to Regional Medical Center where he was put on life support.

The 17-year-old was arrested and booked into Santa Clara Juvenile Hall Friday after police determined he father died because of the physical altercation.
