Paramedic Fired Over Selfies With Dying Patients

| by Amanda Andrade-Rhoades

Tatiana Kulikova, 25, was a paramedic from Kirov, Russia. She lost her job after taking selfies with dying patients.

Daily Express reported Kulikova posted the photos on social media, accompanied by disparaging captions. In one photo, Kulikova gave an accident victim the middle finger and added the caption: "Another moron."

She also posed for a selfie with a heart attack patient, captioned: “How I hate my job.”

Artem Golubev, 40, a local health campaigner, said, "It is clear that while she was taking these photographs she was not looking after her patients…. She shows a callous disregard for the welfare of her patients, some of whom died after those pictures were taken.” He added, "I would not be surprised if their families sue both her and the emergency services."

A spokesperson for the city of Kirov’s emergency services said, "As soon as we were alerted to these images online we suspended the paramedic in question. After an investigation was carried out, the employee was fired."

Kulikova has not commented on her termination or the photos.
