The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) usually receives calls from children wanting to know where Santa is and if he is going to bring toys to their house. There is even a NORAD website that tracks Santa's trip.
An unidentified boy recently called NORAD’s Santa Tracking hotline and said: “I’m from Newtown, Connecticut, where the shooting was. Is it possible that Santa can bring extra presents so I can deliver them to the families that lost kids?,” reports Mediaite.com.
Sara Berghoff, a 13-year-old volunteer who answered the call, told the boy: “If I can get ahold of him, I’ll try to get the message to him."
NORAD spokeswoman 1st Lt. Stacey Fenton said that as of Christmas Eve, the Santa tracking service had received more than 111,000 calls.
