Charles Logan, 68, was reportedly caught on video attacking nurses at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota, on Sunday at around 2 a.m.

A surveillance video (below) released on Wednesday by the Maplewood Police Department shows a man identified as Logan swinging a 3 to 3½ foot long metal pole at nurses who quickly ran away, noted KARE.

Logan, who had been hospitalized because of mental confusion, allegedly assaulted four nurses during the attack.

After Logan left the hospital, police saw him on the street and demanded he drop the pole. When he refused to do, they tased the senior and wrestled him to the ground.

Logan was unresponsive and police returned him to the hospital where he was declared dead.

The Ramsey County medical examiner’s office is planning an autopsy to determine the cause of Logan's death.

“From everything the [man’s] family has said, this is not like him at all,” Maplewood Police Chief Paul Schnell told the Star Tribune. “Something medically occurred. We are certainly hoping to get more answers for the family and everyone.”

An investigation has been launched into Logan's death while two county deputies and a Maplewood officer were put on administrative leave.
