'Revenge Porn' Victims File Lawsuit Against Texxxan.com

| by

More than two dozen women are filing a class action lawsuit against a website that has posted intimate photos of them without their consent.

The website, Texxxan.com, is considered to be a “revenge porn” website where ex-boyfriends or partners can post intimate photos of their former girlfriends as an act of revenge. The women involved allege that the site is “significantly designed to cause severe embarrassment, humiliation, and emotional distress,” according to the petition the women filed in Orange County, Tex.

The website’s splash page announced Saturday that the creators are assessing the situation, but that the users who posted the photos are the ones ultimately culpable.

However, in an embarrassingly undignified response to the women’s accusations, the website suggested, “Maybe the site provided an outlet for anger that prevented physical violence (this statement will be very controversial but is at least worth thinking about).”

The “possible physical violence” the website claims to have intercepted though is completely negated by the fact that, in addition to the intimate photos posted, links to the women’s social media accounts were also posted, making them much more at risk for further harm. The regions where the women live also were disclosed.

In addition to the humiliation caused by the photos, some women have even lost their jobs, according to John Morgan, the lawyer involved with the case.
