A 3-year-old girl's death is under investigation after she had a complication during a dental procedure in San Ramon, California.
Emergency crews received a phone call July 16 about an unresponsive child at Dentalbliss, KRON reported. The child was identified as 3-year-old Marvelena Rady.
"We received a medical call ... of a three-year-old female juvenile that was going through a dental procedure and had some complications," an emergency worker told KPIX. "When we arrived here, San Ramon Fire was already on scene performing CPR."
Marvelena was rushed to San Ramon Valley Regional Center where she was pronounced dead.
The Rady family told the news station they were devastated.
"God have mercy on you my daughter,” Marvelena’s father wrote in a Facebook post.
The dentist has been identified as Dr. Cheri Dang. The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office is performing an autopsy on Marvelena, and the Dental Board of California is investigating the incident.
