After going through a divorce in 2006, Vishal Thakkar decided to get a rhinoplasty, which is a medical term for a "nose job" (video below).
Thakkar, who was living in Tulsa, Oklahoma, went to one of the top plastic surgeons in the area, Dr. Angelo Cuzalina, the president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.
Between 2006 and 2007, Thakkar had eight surgeries, but then left Tulsa until 2011, only to return for more surgeries with Dr. Cuzalina.
Thakkar had a total of 22 surgeries and numerous problems along the way.
Before one of those surgeries, Thakkar claims he told one of Dr. Cuzalina's nurses not to take any cartilage from his ears.
However, when he woke up, Thakkar's ear cartilage had been removed. Dr. Cuzalina reportedly emailed an apology to Thakkar.
During another surgery, Thakkar says cartilage was removed from above his ribcage.
However, the worst surprise came after a 2011 surgery, when Thakkar woke up without a nose.
"He told me that there was an infection in there and since I was on the operating table and unconscious he had to make the decision," Thakkar told Fox 23.
Thakkar, who now breathes through a straw, is now suing Dr. Cuzalina for the surgery. He covertly recorded their conversations and prescribing an excessive amount of powerful medications auch as: Loratab, Ambien, Valilum, and Oxycodone.
"There is no way I am going to live like this. It is worse than being dead," added Thakkar, who plans to get a new plastic surgeon to correct his missing nose.
