Brooklyn Teen Partially Paralyzed Because Of Pot Brownie

Brooklyn, New York, mother Allison Buchanan is against marijuana legalization, but not for the usual reasons — her reason will leave you speechless.

Buchanan’s daughter, 17-year-old, Danieel, bought what she believed was a normal brownie from a fellow student on Feb. 27, but it was apparently laced with pot or another substance.

“She ate part of the brownie, shared it with two other students and got sick,” Buchanan said. “Around 11 a.m. the school called me. They said she had high blood pressure and her heart was racing and they were taking her to the emergency room.”

Danieel was released from the first hospital, but was since taken to another hospital and is now partially paralyzed. Buchanan said doctor’s were completely shocked by her daughter’s condition.

“She’s not able to walk. She can’t stand. She can’t sit up,” she said. “They have never seen anything like this before.”

Buchanan said her daughter had no pre-existing conditions, and no previous experience of alcohol or drug abuse. Doctors found no trace of any drugs in Danieel’s system besides pot, and they have yet to determine what caused the paralysis.

The student who sold Danieel the pot brownie was reportedly suspended.
