New Jersey-born Bollywood actress Aarthi Agarwal died at the age of 31 after a liposuction surgery reportedly went wrong.
Agarwal debuted in the Bollywood scene at age 16, but became famous after her 2001 performance in "Nuvvu Naaku Nachav," the Daily Mail reports. Though she was born in America, she rose to fame in Indian cinema. Agarwal was especially popular in the Tollywood Teluga language film industry.
The actress died of cardiac arrest in Atlantic City following respiratory problems as a result of the surgery.

Agarwal died Friday, roughly one month after she received liposuction in the United States, according to the Dail Mail. The Indian Express, however, reports that she died on Saturday.
Agarwal acted in five films in 2005, according to Indian Express. During that year, she allegedly tried to commit suicide after breaking off a relationship with a coworker and receiving a lack of new movie offers.
Her latest film, "Ranam 2," was released on Friday.
