Lee and Francesca Moore-Williams wept when they were told by doctors that Bella, their 18-month-old baby, would not survive and her life support machine was turned off at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, England on July 21 (video below).

“I was holding her hand knowing there was going to be a little last breath," Lee told the Mirror.

But 30 minutes later, Bella's oxygen went up to 100 percent, and she was kicking and crying.

“I could feel her hand dropping and it went down but then she started gripping my finger," Lee added. “She started moving on her own and then her machine started going off. The doctors then changed everything to try and keep her alive."

Five months later, Bella returned home from the hospital in time for Christmas.

“It’s just amazing," Francesca said. "It’s like we have won the lottery. She made our family complete and it now it’s great to see how well she is doing. When she says, ‘Mama’ it melts my heart.”

Bella began losing clumps of hair in April, and could not sit up properly, but doctors could not find the reason, reports the Express.

Bella got worse during a family vacation in July, and her parents rushed her to hospital where doctors thought she had mitochondrial disease, which is when the body's cells don't produce enough energy.

Bella was later found to suffer from biotinidase deficiency, a rare condition in which the body doesn't make enough biotin needed for the healthy growth of cells. The condition can be controlled with medication.

After her miraculous recovery, Bella spent three more weeks in the hospital before going home.

“She’s now learning to talk and her hair is growing back and she’s even walking," Francesca said.

"She’s about eight months behind where she should be but doctors are confident she will pick up quite quickly," Francesca added. "We are so excited to be together this Christmas and to sit and watch them open their presents."

“Bella loves Father Christmas so we can’t wait to have the Christmas we thought we’d never have six months ago.”
