Baby Gives Parents Thumbs Up In Sonogram Months Before Being Born

 Baby Lochlan. Baby Lochlan.

A Manchester baby made headlines before he was even born.

Cheryl Stevenson, 32, had an appointment at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Manchester, England, for her 20-week ultrasound in February, the Manchester Evening News reported. Her partner, Paul Schofield, 31, accompanied her.

At first, baby Lochlan was curled up into a ball and lying face-down. The technician couldn’t get a clear picture for the ultrasound. Suddenly, the baby gave his parents a sign that everything was going to be alright.

“As soon as the midwife said she would have to wrap things up, his little hand came out and he gave us the thumbs up,” Schofield told the Manchester Evening News. “We all burst into laughter. It was a unique experience that we wanted to share - and it was a great way of him telling us that we are doing a good job by him so far!”

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

They posted the sonogram online and it quickly went viral. It shows the baby giving an unmistakable thumbs up.

“It was crazy,” Schofield added. “There were thousands and thousands of retweets on Twitter and likes on Facebook. So he really was famous before he was born.”

Baby Lochlan was born two weeks early on July 9, weighing 8 pounds, 2 ounces. This is the couple’s second child. They have another 2-year-old boy, Cameron.

“We are going to keep the thumbs up image and the cuttings to show him when he grows up,” said Schofield, adding that the baby is healthy and doing well. “He cannot quite do a thumbs-up as yet but I am sure that it won’t be too long. We’ll make sure to teach him!”
