Actor Elijah Wood has blasted America’s strict no-smoking laws in a new magazine essay.
The Lord of the Rings star insists lawmakers need to allow smokers to choose where and when they smoke, within reason.
He accepts that there have to be places where he and his friends can’t light up, but he’s running out of public places – especially in Los Angeles.
In the piece he wrote for Black Book magazine, he states, “Can we not let the use of free air be determined by the people using it? Should someone have a problem with roving smoke, they should simply ask the offending smoker if he or she would kindly refrain.
