Gabrielle Giffords Cleared to Attend Husband's Shuttle Launch
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has been cleared to attend her astronaut-husband's shuttle launch on Friday. Recovering from a gunshot wound to the head suffered during the Tucson shooting in January, doctors say she is doing remarkably well.
CNN reports that she has full use of her left side and can walk with a cart for therapy. She can also speak in short sentences. Indeed, when she was told could attend the launch, husband Mark Kelly told CBS, "I think she said, 'awesome' and she pumped her fist."
