Gun Owners Win Opening Battle of Obamacare
Congratulations!
You have stymied the shady tactics used by Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi to try to pass the ObamaCare bill and -- in the opening salvo of the battle -- you blew them out of the water.
Gun Owners won a huge vote Wednesday in the Senate.
As you remember, the ObamaCare bill would dump your gun-related health data into a federal database. It would also put your (government mandated) insurance at risk if you keep a loaded gun for self-defense.
But there was a problem: The anti-gun health bills cost too much, and Obama had promised to pass a bill which would not raise the deficit by “one penny.”
So what Obama, Reid, and Pelosi did was to try to pass a separate bill (S. 1776) which would fund the anti-gun ObamaCare bill by raising the deficit another $247 billion dollars.
But, they would argue, because S. 1776 was a “separate bill,” the ObamaCare bill itself would not raise the deficit.
In a Senate not known for morality, this rose to a level of sleaze and corruption that embarrassed many Democrats, in addition to all Republicans.
With gun owners responding vigorously to our alerts on this issue, the motion to invoke “cloture” (or shut off debate) on the bill failed by a 47-53 vote -- 13 votes short of the 60 votes the anti-gun socialists needed.
The victory on S. 1776 means that it will be much harder for Obama, Reid and Pelosi to pick up the somewhat fiscally-minded Blue Dog Democrats they so desperately need to get their anti-gun ObamaCare legislation passed.
So congratulations! It is true that this is only the first battle... but, if we continue battering Congress as we have, it will be the first of many victories.

The core issue is FREEDOM! Obamacare, the bank takeovers, etc. are all attacks on capitalism and the core principles that made this a once great leader in the world.
Today's adminstration highlights such stupidity as appologizing for being a world leader!
We MUST continue to fight these socialist policies such as Obamacare, higher taxes on those who work for a living........Just say NO!

Now having reviewed what the meaning of socialism is, and is not caelura, am looking for your logic arguement that the people mentioned in the article (Pelosi, Reid, etc. arent practicing or in that middle ground of
"socialism".
After all, government control of banks using our tax dollars, government control of 1/7th of the manufacturing base (automotive), the current attempt to bring the insurance game under government control, thereby enriching the government bank accounts by how many billions if not trillions of dollars that could then be used for greater financial leverge internationally. Dictation of salary levels to those industries. Regulatory defamation with the FCC being used to deny licenses or promote to those who toe the government propaganda line. More and more people who clearly seem to believe that the government owes them something. No we see NO evidence that socialistic programs are being advanced beyond "common sense".
Now you are going to have to prove logically how governments who have, ROTFLMAO, "EVOLVED" to a socialistic system, dont or havent used that vaunted economic system of making the public "dependent" on big brother government such that you can guarantee, with irrefutable proof that use of the economic leverage gained by the government by use of socialistic policies will never, ever, be used by ALL politicians against our rights?
After all, politicians are the most trust worthy and honest people anyone knows right?
look at the list of democrats who voted against this. It had nothing to do with gun lobbyists since you didn't flip anyone that was really unexpected since this was a combination of the privacy hawks and the gun rights democrats ... keep battering them all you want since you didn't flip any democrats of note here.
I like the comment about "anti-gun socialists" though, since an economic position clearly has everything to do with gun rights - and we clearly have so many socialist senators , despite the fact I have yet to see a bill the promotes public ownership of the means of production on any substantial scale at all. Perhaps they changed the meaning of socialism while I was out tonight.
