PG, Brooklyn Nets
Best player on a new-look Nets squad. If they challenge the Heat, could be a very solid darkhorse candidate.
PG, Los Angeles Lakers
Will look MVP-esque at times just by virtue of what he does to the Lakers offense, but not as complete a player as the guys ranked above him.
C, Los Angeles Lakers
Would need to have a dominant year to beat out Kobe for this award. Given the fact that he hasn’t even returned from his injury yet, seems unlikely.
PG, Oklahoma City Thunder
An extremely underrated talent, but will never win the MVP over Kevin Durant. Never.
SG, Los Angeles Lakers
Not even the best player on his own team anymore (Dwight), but obviously the leader of a star-laden Lakers bunch. If L.A. dominates the regular season, he could win just for being the face of the franchise.
SF, Oklahoma City Thunder
Tremendous scorer, showed flashes of impressive defensive skills in the Western Conference playoffs last year, but not as complete a player as LeBron. Will need a ridiculous year and a stumble by Miami to win this award.
SF, Miami Heat
Hands down the most talented and complete player in the NBA today. Should be the favorite by a mile.
