While we all wait on pins and needles to find out the outcome of the latest Brett Favre nonsense (***rolls eyes and makes L sign with right hand***) regarding former New York Jets employee Jenn Sterger, one of Sterger’s friends has decided to talk to Steppin’ Out magazine.
Allison Torres, 24, says that Favre and Sterger “regularly texted” back in 2008 when Favre played for the Jets. If this is true – and we believe everything we read so it has to be. Plus, it was on the internet, so… – this would hardly point to Sterger as the victim of sexual harassment.
“We talked about it like girlfriends talk about that kind of stuff. You have to understand that Brett Favre isn’t the first celebrity that tried to hook up with her.”
Torres says that Favre tried to lure Sterger over to his hotel room through a series of calls and text messages. Favre admits to leaving the voicemails, but denies sending pictures of his junk to her.
“At the time, his family was living somewhere in Morristown, NJ, but he would stay at a hotel near Giants Stadium,” Torres said. “I did think that was kind of weird. He would say to her, ‘Come over.’ She would keep saying to me, ‘I don’t know what to do.’ ”
Torres also claims that she saw the picture of his dong that he claims he never sent.
“I actually saw it when he sent it. We just laughed when he did it,” she said.
If they really looked at it together and laughed, then this would hardly indicate that Favre’s advances were completely unwanted.
Sterger, who has so far refused to cooperate with the NFL’s investigation, regularly texted with the quarterback for some time, Torres told the magazine.
According to Torres, Sterger wouldn’t tell her if the two ever actually hooked up.
“I just know they kept texting each other back and forth and that he wanted to hook up,” Torres said. “I wouldn’t doubt she was enjoying the attention from him.”
Sterger’s manager, Phil Reese, obviously disputes Torres’ claims because he’s looking to cash in on a payday. Torres’ statements do nothing to help that.
“This is someone who is clearly trying to exploit an unfortunate situation and capitalize on the opportunity to see her name in print,” Reese said.
Torres also says that Favre isn’t the first (and won’t be the last) celebrity to text Sterger nasty pictures.
“She could make millions if she ever cashed in on all the naked photos she gets from friends,” Torres said.
When Torres was asked about the type of person Favre is, she described him as a “dopey, dopey character.”
“I don’t know what else to say — even when they were talking back and forth, I was wondering what he was thinking,” she said. “It was so risky to do what he did. When you send naked pictures of yourself to a 20-year-old girl, you’re just asking for trouble.”
We can think of a lot of reasons to send naked pictures of ourselves to a 20-year old girl, but we’ll leave that for another day. That aside, if Torres is remotely telling the truth, Sterger’s case for making a cash grab is getting significantly weaker.
Wonder what Deanna thinks of all this?
