PARKLAND, Wash. --- Four police officers were shot and killed Sunday morning as they sat inside a coffee shop Sunday morning. Sheriff's officials describe the murders as an "ambush."
The officers were in a Tacoma suburb cafe called Forza Coffee -- in front of their laptop computers -- preparing for day shifts. Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says that's when one or two gunmen walked into the restaurant and opened fire.

Troyer said it was a "targeted, selected ambush," considering there were workers and customers inside the cafe who were left unharmed.
According to NBC News, Brad Carpenter, the founder of Forza Coffee, says all of his employees have been accounted for. Carpenter, who is a retired police officer, opened Forza in 2002 and now has 21 stores around the greater Tacoma area.
