In the ever-growing elite level of Mixed Martial Arts fighters in the UFC, every event will potentially eliminate one or more fighters off the roster. UFC 130 this weekend is no different even with its popular lineup of well-known fighters some may be in the fight unemployment line come Monday morning. Here is the list of our opinion on who may be in the hot seat.
On the Preliminary card Kendall Grove and Tim Boetsch are both coming off loses on their rocky path of UFC fights. Grove is an Ultimate fighter season winner and a highly mentioned fan favorite who seems to come up short in the big fights. Boetsch had his opportunity to face a high-caliber prospect and faded early, eventually being submitted by Kimura. If either fighter suffers an embarrassing loss they could find themselves outside the UFC looking for a way back in.
Rafaello Oliveira was recently cut from the UFC before going on a four fight win streak and taking a tough fight on short notice in his return. His opponent in Tibau has all the tools necessary to easy take away any chances for Oliveira sticking around and will be an extremely tough test to overcome. In stepping up on such short notice, Oliveira has probably earned himself at least two fights in the Octagon, but stranger things have happened.
Cole Escovedo is 1-2 in his last three fights and will be facing one of the top submission bantamweights in the world who is currently on a 24 fight win streak, tearing through pretty much everyone put in front of him. An embarrassing early submission could result in a one and done in the UFC for Escovedo.
Overall it should be a great night of fights with lots riding on the lines for the above mentioned fighters. Make sure to watch UFC 130 this Saturday starting off on Facebook, then Spike TV and finally the main card on PPV.
