Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) appeared on the American Family Association's radio show today where he doubted that a Hurricane Sandy relief bill was actually needed because FEMA supposedly has billions on hand (audio below), reports RightWingWatch.org.
Rep. Huelskamp said: "FEMA, which would be spending the money, has billions of dollars right now. They can't spend it all quick enough. For some reason this administration and the Republicans in the House and the Senate decided that we're gonna start spending more money."
"Of course people in that area need some help, but again if you have 10 or 20 billion dollars cash on hand and you can't get it spent, why exactly does the first action of this Congress have to be passing a $60 billion spending bill, which we don't have the money for."
