Yes, these parents need to be looking in the mirror if they want to blame someone. I have guns and children . I would never let them handle a gun that they have not used before without me standing there, hovering, teaching, helping, and ensuring they are safe and sound.

I do have to say, allowing a 15 year old to be the RO for any reason, let alone with full auto, is wrong on several levels.

Guns are safe, when you treat them with respect, when you have competant supervision, and ensure everyone has good training.

I don't care how experienced he is, 15 is too young. I certainly wouldn't be taking commands from a 15 year old on this, and I'm certainly not entrusting the life of my children , one of whom is 15 herself, to a 15 year-old kid.

I have trouble trying to figure out who's more at fault, a gun club that hands out Uzi SMGs to 8 year olds, or parents that let their 8 year old be handed an Uzi SMG at a gun club. It doesn't sound like either side used good sense, but the parents were, or should have been, in the best position to keep it from happening.
