Ex-NBA Star Jayson Williams Sentenced to 5 Years for Driver's Death

Former NBA star Jayson Williams was sentenced to five years in prison Tuesday for his role in the shooting death of a limo driver back in 2002. Costas Christofi was shot to death inside Williams' New Jersey home while Williams was showing off a rifle that he claims he didn't know was loaded.

Williams was convicted in 2004 of four counts of covering up the shooting. The jury acquitted him of aggravated manslaughter, but was deadlocked on the charge of reckless manslaughter. To avoid a retrial of that charge, Williams last month pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.

Williams must serve 18 months before being eligible for parole.
