Far more well-known than last spring’s ill-fated John Carter, Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Tarzan has seen many, many on-screen incarnations. The last one of note was in 1999, an animated Disney film most notable for its Phil Collins soundtrack.
The latest, Tarzan 3D, is a motion-capture version from German director Reinhard Klooss. Today we have the first teaser poster and trailer as well as a behind-the-scenes featurette.
Kellan Lutz (The Twilight Saga) stars as Tarzan and Spencer Locke (Resident Evil: Afterlife) is his Jane.
Set in the modern era , in this version Tarzan and Jane Porter face a mercenary army dispatched by the evil CEO of Greystoke Energies, a man who took over the company from Tarzan's parents, after they died in a plane crash
Klooss is directing from a script he co-wrote with Jessica Postigo (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) and Yoni Brenner (Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs)
Tarzan 3D is set for release in Germany on July 25. No word yet on US or US but sometime in the summer is a safe bet.
