As Anne mentioned earlier today, The Perks of Being a Wallflower premiered in LA last night. We’ve got a ton more pics from the red carpet including Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, the wonderful Melanie Lynsky, Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott, Nina Dobrev, Mae Whitman and Erin Wilhemi. In other words, most of the cast with the exception of Logan Lerman (although he was represented by a card-board cutout that Miller wouldn’t let go of) and Paul Rudd.
Guests included most of young Hollywood including Shailene Woodley, Rumer Willis and Leven Rambin (soon to be seen in Chasing Mavericks with Gerard Butler) as well as Derek Hough’s dancing compatriots Val Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd.
Based on the novel written by Stephen Chbosky, this is about 15-year-old Charlie (Logan Lerman), an endearing and naive outsider, coping with first love (Emma Watson), the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness while struggling to find a group of people with whom he belongs. The introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors, Sam and Patrick, who welcome him to the real world.
In addition to the premiere pics, we have some brand new clips from the film to share as well.
The Perks of Being a Wildflower still has a TIFF bow ahead of it, but the US release is set for September 21 and in the UK on 3rd October. You can see the rest of our coverage here. Enjoy the pics!
