Video: Movie Trailer for 'Jack Reacher' Starring Tom Cruise

| by I Need My Fix

Good things come to those who wait. This past weekend, the Russian version of this teaser for Jack Reacher, the new action adventure starring Tom Cruise and based on a series of novels by Lee Child, leaked online then was promptly yanked by Paramount.  While some sites still had it available, it looked like a bootleg. Not to mention it was in Russian. Paramount has decided to control the information and has given us the real deal. (Although I suspect it was rushed out for an entirely different reason, know'm sayin'?)

Yahoo Movies has just debuted the English language version (as well as a teaser poster that leaves something to be desired). It’s short, but much like Cruise’s character, it kicks ass.

I haven’t read the books although the author comes highly recommended so I may start. In any case,  I don’t know if it was Child’s idea to put Reacher in a vintage 70’s muscle car, but the filmmakers get props regardless.

“When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.”

Cruise stars along with Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, Robert Duvall, and Werner Herzog.  Directed by writer Christopher “The Usual Suspects” McQuarrie, making his directorial debut, Jack Reacher, whose original title was One Shot, also the title of the novel (Why?! do studios do that?? *bangs head on desk*) will be released December 21 in the US and 28th December in the UK.
