This clip from Bel Ami is called “All Here for Suzanne”, but it might as well be called “Another One Bites the Dust” since it’s all about Robert Pattinson’s Georges Duroy setting his sights on (yet another) female and having her visibly succumb, all in the span of about twenty seconds. The mark this time is Holliday Grainger’s Suzanne, the lovely and innocent daughter of Colm Meaney’s Rousset. The scene appears to be her “coming out” party
The city’s finest (if penniless) sons have all lined up for a chance with the beautiful heiress but we know by the end of the clip that it is the equally broke Georges who has won, with just a look…no, no, I take that back. Not just a look, “THE” look. There are few who can pull off THE LOOK. (You know the one I mean. The look that can skewer you to the wall and make your clothes fall off.) I have to give him credit, Pattinson has got it down. Did you hear that? That was the sound of Twihards and RPattz fans the world over, swooning.
Popular VideoPeople were so furious about this Pepsi ad that Pepsi pulled it after just one day. Watch it here and decide if it's offensive:
Bel Ami, directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod with the screenplay written by Rachel Bennette, is a period drama set in 1890s Paris. Pattinson is Georges Duroy, a penniless ex-soldier. The film follows his fin de sicle rise to power through his manipulation of the most influential and wealthy women in Paris, played by Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, and Kristin Scott Thomas. In the other clips and trailers we’ve seen Georges work his charms on the other three, but you know that Grainger’s Suzanne is wife material. What’dya think? Will they be happy?
Bel Ami obviously did not open in the US last week as was initially reported. It opens in the UK tomorrow, March 9, but we’ll probably only get VOD. At this point, I just want to see it!
