Kat Von D stormed off the "Good Day LA" set before an interview when host Jeff Michael mentioned her ex Jesse James.

The incident occurred during a "Coming Up Next" segment in which the show aired a clip of Von D's show "LA Ink".

Jeff Michael told British newspaper the Daily Mail that Von D's exit "left us hanging in the studio." He said he was introducing her when she walked out; he mentioned her split with Jesse James, and then spoke about the tattoo of James' face Von D had gotten just before the breakup. He then saw Von D take off her microphone and leave the set.

Michael said he'd spoken to Von D and agreed not to ask her about Sandra Bullock, but he hadn't agreed to avoid any other subject.

After she left, Von D tweeted, "Dear Good Day LA, thanks for the waste of a perfectly good morning. Lack of compassion n respect for each other never fails to disappoint me."

Michael said that all Good Day LA's hosts were planning to do was ask her one or two questions about the breakup and then move on. "We treat celebrities very well," he said. "We are always fair."

Cohost Jillian Reynolds was angry about Von D's exit, and later tweeted to her, "Why was it disrespectful? We said you guys broke up... We showed the clip your publicist sent. It showed you and Jesse. Were we not supposed to mention you broke up?"

Von D responded, "I didn't walk out because you used the clip we sent you - I walked out because of your disrespectful intro you guys "snuck" in." In her next tweet, she continued, "ps. Publicly disrespecting someone for the sake of better ratings isn't something a person of compassion does. Good day."

Von D later said that she'd agreed to talk briefly about her split from Jesse James, as long as the hosts didn't mention him when they were introducing her.
